Loonie Stampers Challenge #19...FInally!

Sorry I am SOOO late. I am so far behind I think I may have lapped myself...lol. So Last night I very quickly whipped up this card and by quickly I mean I literally threw it together in like 5 minutes. Not good. I actually like my LSC color map image better then my card. I was about 10 seconds away from doing a virtual card instead. Anyway, my card is done and I am going to make you suffer through it...lol

First I stamped my cupcake image, colored it, cut it out and added the stickles to it. I made the base of the card using the Marvy Giga Scalloped circle and then I hand cut the bottom cupcake wrapper. I don't have any Kraft left so I used something that was kinda close. It is Bazzil Bling paper. Next I cut another marvy scallop circle and scored it a bit at the top and added sticky tape and stuck it to the front. Next came the ribbon (which we had to use...come on I hardly ever go without using ribbon yet I still have over 400 rolls...Madness I know). I attached the cupcake using dimensionals, stamped my sentiment and there you have it!

I am sure you have already been to see my LSC girls but just in case here are the links again.

My Girls.....again!

Here are some pictures of girls....Mostly decorating and being the Drama Queens that they are...Seriously How could I have ever said I would never have kids when I was younger?
This Is my Youngest McKenzie.....shortly after I busted her getting into the crafty things on the table. And yes, that is the look she gives me when she KNOWS she is busted!
And here is both McKayla & McKenzie decorating the tree.

McKenzie pretty much anchored herself in this spot decorating "her" spot.

...and i think she did good. Funny thing is I have a picture that looks almost identical from last year that McKayla did...LOL
Last, but not least, my girls present the tree but at this point I didn't care what the tree looked like, I mean look how cute and loving these sisters are!!!

Have a great day and I will see you again soon!!

Teacher's Christmas Part 2

So here are the details (more or less just the pictures) of the card set I made for the Kindergarten Teachers Christmas Gift.

Since I asked her earlier in the year what her Christmas colors are and they happen to be the same as mine, I HAD to make something super cool. So I made Lauren Meader's All wrapped up template and a bunch of note cards die cut from Spellbinders Labels.

Teacher's Christmas

Teachers are such a giant role in the lives of our children and set such wonderful foundations of life in out children, they should all be treated like royalty, right? Well I know all the lovey dovey, wonderful words of wisdom can be set aside in the case of my Daughter's Kindergarten teacher (not because she is not wonderful because she is for SURE) She however deserves special treatment because She too has to listen to my Daughter's none stop talking. LOL And she really does talk a lot (She gets it from her Dad, really....I swear! Ok fine it comes from me)
Anyways, back to the subject...this is the gift basket I made for her. It turns out I was extra inspired thanks to my Great Friend Char explaining to me in a better way, how to make awesome Christmas Ornaments and finding out that the Teacher has the same Christmas colors as me. So this is the basket which I later also made a tin to match that my BF Sarah filled with her delicious Christmas baking and we presented it to her together a few nights ago at the School's Christmas Concert.

So, do you see that box in the back center of the basket? Well the details on that will be coming on Monday. We Loonie Stampers have a special post for you tomorrow and then I will let you see it...LOL

Papertrey Heart Tin

Oh how its has been sometime since I have done anything with one of these. I had a client contact me about personalizing one as a gift container for a lovely ornament she bought her 13 year old grand daughter. So she picked out the colors and I did this up.

The Papers are from Stampin Up, I do believe a retired Paper line. I also used some Papertrey ribbons and Stamp Set.

I personalized it with stickers but was concerned that they would eventually peel off so I coated the top and sides of the tin with modge podge (or whatever it is called...LOL) It turned out great.

I would love to tell you that my client loved it, however we were not able to meet up at time agreed upon last weekend so hopefully soon. I also hope she and her grand daughter love it!!

Thanks for stopping in, See you again soon.

A Christmas Gift

Just a SUPER short post to share some pictures of a couple of card kits for a customer in her Christmas colors. I think it turned out great and she loves it. These are the verve poinsettia stamps and made the box with Lauren Meader's All Wrapped Up template.....I love them and my Customer did too!

I also wanted to apologize for my lack in posting lately. I have been swamped with Christmas projects (all of which I really do plan in sharing eventually) and I am also working part time for Christmas to help out my old employer. This is the 3rd time I have worked for her and it is such a blast but definitely a glimpse of a reminder as to why I enjoy being able to stay home and do cards and web design for work instead!!!!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #17 & a Prize!!!!

For this week's challenge Dee chose our colors, Plum Pudding, Vintage Cream, Ocean Tides, and Kraft with no stamp restrictions. Cool Combo!! So what is the rest of the scoop? Play along with us this week, Post it on your blog or in your online Gallery and link us in the comment section to let us know you played. We are going to select a winner from all the participants. The Candy can be seen on Dee's Blog!!

For my card I kept it pretty simple and was happy with the card until I stamped my sentiment. I stamped it in Ocean Tides and it was like stamping into water so I pressed a napkin into the top of it and stamped the sentiment again but did not have it quite lined up...oops! Still, I do like the card and definitely Love the combo, which is great considering I do not even like purple! Oh and don't forget to visit the girls before you go make your own card for Candy!

As you can see I most definitely made this card at the last minute considering you can still see the un dried glue beneath the buttons....LOL My apologies. It has been a long day. So I also leave you with this wonderful picture of what my craft room looks like after rushing to make this card!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #16

This week was Regan's pick and I was afraid at first but when I finally started building my project, I was delightfully impressed with how the colors looked together.
I started by making the card and then realized that I had not used any kraft, so I went to get some out and low and behold I could not find it. I KNOW I have some but who knows where exactly. So instead I did an add on project using a PTI Kraft Coffee bean bag (Is that what they are called??? lol) So I made it to match and I plan to bake some cookies to put in the bag and give it to the principal at my Daughter's School.

I also need to say THANK YOU to Charlene who is a super duper friend and managed to get me the "somewhat hard to find" labels Spellbinders set. They are DIVINE and I have a few more projects coming up using them.
Visit my Girls....... WENDY CHAR REGAN DEE MARIA
And please play along and link us up......it is great to see your creations as well...Have a happy Friday!!
PS. Those poinsettias are my new verve stamps...ordered a few things and love them!!

Casing a Genius

I Love ALL things Nichole Heady does in the paper crafting world. I love her stamp sets, her Perfect Match and everything creates with them. During the release of Snowflake Serenade she made a card similar to this but showcased the Faux Silk Technique and so I changed it up a little and I am in LOVE with the results.

I do not often like just red, green and white on Christmas cards as I don't "do" traditional Christmas. With the right tools and a great "case" I might even make a few more of this card.

Don't worry I am sure I will make up for it next week.

Snowflakes & Mittens

Luckily we have not had to drag those mittens out yet...knock on wood. Can you believe that?!? The middle of November in Western Canada and we are still going out in light jackets. I wish it would stay all the way until Christmas Eve.
On to the card....

I stamped Soft sky (last years SU In color....cause my second aqua mist pad is like stamping water) Snowflakes from the snowfall and snowfall additions sets onto stampers select. Then I used some more new beautiful Christmas paper from the line "Snowy Jo Glitter Paper" from Imaginisce. LOVE it, Love it, love IT! I ordered from a store in Hamilton, Ontario...very cool and cheap shipping within Canada.....www.discountscrapbooksupplies.com

So after I layered 2 of the nice patterns I stamped the snowflakes and mittens in white craft and embossed with iridescent Ice. Then I cut everything out and arranged in my card. Other then that it is blank inside and out for sentiments....I am leaving it open for thought...LOL

'O Christmas Tree

This is just a simple card for a Customer, hopefully she likes it. I used my new DSP from K&Company's Christmas Cheer Specialty Papers. If you have not seen them in your LSS or at Michael's with a 40 or 50% coupon, you really should it is SO pretty!

The trees are stamped in Versa on Black c/s and heat embossed white. Both trees are from the PTI set Merry & Bright Additions. Brilliant set I love it!!

Ok later people....

A Christmas Shaker

When I was in Calgary in August, Char gave me some of the sticky stuff squares that you can use to make shakers and can you believe I am only just trying it?? I love how it looks though so she may have got me addicted...hehe.
The base of this card is Basic Black from SU and then followed by Stamper's Select (PTI) and then Silver Shimmer (PTI). I embossed the silver Shimmer twice. Once with the snowflakes folder just a few inches at the bottom and then again just above that with the Swiss dots strip. I separated the two styles of embossing with last years SU Soft Sky In Color stitched ribbon.

Then I took a piece of scalloped square on board chipboard from SU and inked it black with a dauber, applied the thin sticky strip square to the back side and covered it with acetate. I then added the foam square sticky. Next I poured a small amount of fine glitter from Martha Stewart Crafts onto the acetate BEFORE peeling off the other side of the foam sticky. Then I took my already stamped square and applied it to the foam. Viola! I adorned it with 2 different styles of snowflakes...one is punched out with the marvy snowflakes punch and the top blue one is the felt flurries from SU.

Well that is all folks!! See ya again soon!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #14

So I am sure the girls all hate me this week as I made it complicate with my selections this week. LOL Don't worry Ladies, I hate me too. This one was harder then I thought and I don't really like my card. Oh well I am actually done early and not typing my post at 3 am so I guess it is give and take. So using the picture of my friends wedding cake as inspiration, I picked the colors as seen above to use one or the other or both all on an acetate or vellum base.
This is my Card:

I used the leaves set from Clear Dollar Stamps and used all the colors noted above. I made my Card on the Papertrey Ink Linen Vellum, I like the texture that it gives to the stamping!!

The best part about this card, IMO, is the inside. I liked how it turned out LOL
So anyway don't forget to pop by and see my friends and check out what they did!!

Black & White Challenge...

It was not an official challenge from any group or website or anything like that. I have a very nice customer who asked me to do some Christmas samples and she said she liked black and white and perhaps a soft teal. Hmmmmmmmm...ok! I have to admit I found this to more challenging then even some of the Loonie Stampers Challenges. But at any rate here are some of my samples....Some of these cards are inspired by others I have seen out there.

The middle card is my Favorite so here are a few more pics of it. This card was inspired by a beautiful card I found on Me, My Stamps & I. Anyways I love how it looked and thought black and white and a few changes it may work for my customer. I hope she likes it and I hope you like it too!

drum roll please.....yes the inside...LOL

Ok folks I will try to post more this week since my new floors and new bathroom are almost done and I may eve try and get some pictures!!

Holiday Wishes Supplies:
basic Black c/s (SU)
Aqua Mist & Stampers Select c/s (PTI)
2008 Holiday Tag Collection (PTI)
Border Punch and Cedar punch ( Martha Stewart)
Other: cuttlebug emboss folder, dollarstore ribbon, stampendous black emboss powder

Loonie Stampers Challenge #13

Welcome to Loonie Stampers Challenge #13. This week's color selection was made by the Lovely Wendy! She was even kind enough to reference the PTI colors to the SU colors. I will note that we had some discussion on the new PTI colors matching a bit better to the SU colors. I say...whatever use what you got! I LOVE this color combo. WTG Wendy!!

This week I chose to use a non Papertrey Set to stamp with. What can I say, I just could NOT help myself. When these cute little babies were delivered to my door this morning at 8:15 am (My mailman is on the ball I guess). This sweet little cupcake is from the Taylored Expressions Season's Sweetings set. SO FRIGGIN CA-UTE!!!

So the basics:
*Aqua Mist Card Based followed by a Spring Moss matte for the Silver Shimmer, which I embossed with the Ornaments Cuttlebug Folder.
*Aqua Mist Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a simple knot
*Punched out a giga scalloped circle and a mega circle, then stamped the cutey pa tootie stamp using the full size black memento ad (also purchased from Taylor's)
*Then I colored in the cupcake with my Copics, How did I ever get by with out them before???
*Then I attached the circles to the card and also stamped and added the sentiment.

Last but certainly not least, I used puffy paint to do all the snow around the cupcake, falling from the sky, dotting the scallops and at the bottom to help bring the flow of the snow through the whole card. (McKayla would be so proud that I just rhymed...lol)

So as not to disappoint, here is the inside also complete with a bit of snow. I realize it will get a little smooched but it actually smooches nicely. (is smooches a real word? OK whatever all you grammar freaks beware of this post cuz I don't care! LOL)

Oh one final note. I used my heat gun to dry the puffy. I like the real looking results for snow!

Now please go and check out my Loonie Friends and spread some lovin' the comments. Also I cant wait to see what YOU can, yes you reading this right now. So link us up so we can come leave you some comments as well.

New Leaves...

Ok just new stamps I wish it was spring and we were all getting new leaves. Oh well I guess you cant have a snowball fight in the summer (unless you raid a snow cone stand). Anyway, on to the cards.

I love the detail of the leaves in this stamp set called Leaves (if you can imagine) from Clear Dollar Stamps. So on this card I stamped the leaf cluster in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. Then added the mounted gold embossed version with some the PTI Gold ribbon, made the little mini Thanks tag and presto!

Here is another angle where you can actually tell that it is embossed.

This card I did the 'ol rock n roll technique (which I love because it is so damn easy and looks so great KWIM?) The leaf is from the same set and is mounted on some PTI Father Knows Best Paper.
That is all I have for today...See ya again tomorrow!
